ACM CHI 2024 in Honolulu

The ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) took place from May 11-16, 2024, at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. Weizhou Luo attended the conference and successfully presented his work “Exploring Spatial Organization Strategies for Virtual Content in Mixed Reality Environments” at the Doctoral Consortium. He also discussed his poster about this work with other conference attendees.

ACM CHI 2023 in Hamburg

The very first German edition of the prestigious ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) took place in Hamburg from April 23 to 28. Eight researchers from the IML team attended the conference and successfully presented a full paper, two Late-Breaking-Work posters and an interactivity demonstration. In addition, Raimund Dachselt served as session chair and Mats Ole Ellenberg as Student Volunteer.

IEEE ISMAR 2022 in Singapore

This year, the ISMAR conference took place in Singapore. From October 17 to 21, exciting research papers were presented at this important augmented and mixed reality conference, for the first time also in hybrid form. A record was set both in the number of papers and the number of participants. The Interactive Media Lab was represented again this year: Katja Krug, Marc Satkowski and Wolfgang Büschel attended the conference from our Lab.

The ACM CHI is the biggest and most prestigious conference in the field of human-computer interaction and will take place in New Orleans, LA, USA from April 30 to May 05, 2022. IEEE VIS 2019 in Vancouver

This year, the IEEE VIS Conference took place in Vancouver, Canada. 20-25 October, scientists and practitioners from all over the world presented the newest research in the area of visualization. Of course the Interactive Media Lab was present as well. Tamara Flemisch, Ricardo Langner, Tom Horak and Wolfgang Büschel from our lab attended the conference. While Tamara and Tom served as Student Volunteers, Wolfgang gave a talk about our CG&A article Augmented Reality Graph Visualizations: Investigation of Visual Styles in 3D Node-Link Diagrams on Wednesday. More information, the paper PDF and the presentation slides can be found on the project page. Ulrik Günther and Aryaman Gupta of the CSBD/MPI-CBG were also there and presented a poster from the Cluster of Excellence Physics of Life and a short paper.
