The IEEE ISMAR 2021 (IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality) took place from October 4 to 8. Our group was involved with three contributions.
We are very happy to announce that the authors Weizhou Luo, Eva Goebel, Patrick Reipschläger, Mats Ole Ellenberg, and Raimund Dachselt won the best poster award.

The winning poster article is called „Exploring and Slicing Volumetric Medical Data in Augmented Reality Using a Spatially-Aware Mobile Device„. Additionally, an honorable mention was awarded for the corresponding demonstration „Demonstrating Spatial Exploration and Slicing of Volumetric Medical Data in Augmented Reality with Handheld Devices„.
In this poster article, we present a concept and prototype for exploring volumetric medical data in AR with a spatially tracked tablet, featuring spatial navigation to extract 2D slices from volumetric data in 3D space.

In addition, Marc Satkowski, Weizhou Luo, and Raimund Dachselt presented their poster article „Towards In-situ Authoring of AR Visualizations with Mobile Devices„. In this work, we contribute a set of concepts and an early prototype, which allows configuring AR visualizations in-situ on the mobile device.
