Das Ziel dieses Doktoranden-Projekts ist die Entwicklung und Evaluation neuartiger Interaktionstechniken unter Verwendung von raum-bewussten mobilen Displays (Tangible Displays) – üblicherweise in der Umgebung von größeren, stationären Displays, etwa einem interaktiven Tabletop. Neben der Entwicklung der technischen Grundlagen (Hard- und Software-Framework), ist ein wichtiges wissenschaftliches Ziel die Untersuchung des Wechselspiels zwischen verschiedenen Interaktionsmodalitäten (z. Tangible Windows for 3D Information Spaces
Tangible Windows ermöglichen es, einfache 3D-Interaktionsaufgaben durch die Kombination der Prinzipien von Tangible Interaction, kopfgebundener Perspektive (Head-Coupled Perspective) und Multitouch auf leichte Art auszuführen. Tangible User Interface Palettes
Um die Affordances von Malerpaletten auf Grafikeditoren zu übertragen, schlagen wir vor, Tabletops mit in der Hand gehaltenen Displays zu erweitern. Wir führen das Konzept räumlicher Arbeitszonen ein, die eine bestimmte 3D-Region über einer Tischoberfläche ausfüllen und als physische Behälter für digitale Inhalte dienen. Dies ermöglicht einen schnellen Zugriff auf Werkzeuge und Teile des Grafikdokuments, die sofort digital, beispielsweise per Stift, bearbeitet werden können. Weitere Informationen

Tangible Views for Information Visualization
Wir tragen bei zu der nahtlosen Zusammenführung von Interaktion und Anzeigegeräten und schlagen neue Arten der Visualisierung und direkten Interaktion mit Informationen vor. Anstatt die Interaktion auf die Displayoberfläche selbst zu beschränken, nutzen wir ganz explizit den physischen, dreidimensionalen Raum über ihr für natürliche Interaktion mit mehreren Displays. Dieses Projekt exploriert neuartige Interaktionstechniken die auf raum-bewussten Tangible Displays (Magic Lenses) in Multi-Display Umgebungen basieren. Die Höhe über einer Referenzfläche (z.
