							<content:encoded><![CDATA[<img src="https://mt.inf.tu-dresden.de/cnt/uploads/LNDWheader.png" alt=""/><p><strong data-start="154" data-end="179">Trotz der Rekordhitze</strong> zog die diesjährige Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften erneut zahlreiche Besucher*innen in das Interactive Media Lab, so dass wir unsere aktuelle Forschung und Projekte einem breiten Publikum vorstellen konnten.</p>

<p data-start="691" data-end="1339">In unserem <strong data-start="453" data-end="478">großen Lab (APB/2042)</strong> zeigten wir drei Stationen: den Prototypen zu unserer aktuellen CHI-Publikation <em>„Beyond Links“</em>, welcher visuelle Repräsentationen für Beziehungen zwischen mehreren koordinierten Ansichten erlebbar macht, eine <em>Virtual-Reality-Anwendung zum datengetriebenen Storytelling</em>, die anhand einer Buchmetapher komplexe Zusammenhänge vermittelt, sowie die <em>Climate Time Machine</em> – eine LLM-gestützte Storytelling-Anwendung, mit der Besucher Wetterdaten verschiedener Jahre interaktiv erkunden konnten. Außerdem informierten wir über den<a href="https://scifi-vis.github.io/"><em> SciFi-VIS Workshop auf der IEEE VIS 2026</em></a>, der von unserem Kollegen <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/julian-mendez/">Julián Méndez</a> mitorganisiert wird.</p>
<p data-start="691" data-end="1339">In unserem <strong data-start="1182" data-end="1208">kleinen Lab (APB/2044)</strong> präsentierten wir unser DFG-gefördertes Forschungsprojekt <a href="https://imld.de/research/research-projects/tvist/"><em>tVISt</em></a>, das sich mit Datenvisualisierung jenseits klassischer planarer Displays beschäftigt. Hierbei haben wir verschiedene unkonventionelle Displays demonstriert. Darüber hinaus konnten Besucher*innen auch <em>BacteriaZoom </em>ausprobieren, eine Augmented-Reality-Anwendung im Rahmen des Projekts <em>Bacteriopolis</em>, die in Zusammenarbeit mit der Professur für Mikrobiologie entwickelt wurde und die interaktive Erkundung eines 3D-Bakterienmodells ermöglicht. Ein weitere Station zeigte den <em><a href="https://ms-wissenschaft.de/de/ausstellung/rundgang/#accordion-shipplan-heading-25">3D Interaktiven OP-Saal,</a></em> der in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Nationalen Centrum für Tumorerkrankungen (NCT) und <a href="https://imld.de/research/research-projects/ceti/">CeTI</a> als Austellungsobjekt für die <a href="https://ms-wissenschaft.de/">MS Wissenschaft</a> gebaut wurde. Hier können Interessierte mit virtuellen medizinischen Fachkräften sprechen und mithilfe eines Operationsroboters eine Gallenblasenentfernung durchführen. Zusätzlich luden verschiedene kollaborative und kompetitive Anwendungen auf unserem Tabletop-Display zum Ausprobieren ein.</p>

<p>Zu Beginn hielt der Künstler Yadegar Asisi seine inspirierende Keynote, bei welcher er über technologischen Fortschritt und die menschliche Wahrnehmung reflektierte und den Wert der menschlichen Erfahrung in unserer technisierten Welt ins Zentrum rückte.</p>
<p>Wir freuen uns außerdem, unserer Absolventin Nicola Doyle zu gratulieren, die den diesjährigen visualistik Preis für den besten Bachelorabschluss im Bereich Medieninformatik für ihre Thesis „<em>Designing an Engaging Youth-Focused User Interface for an Urban Planning Participation Platform</em>&#8220; erhielt, betreut von <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/annett-mitschick/">Annett Mittschick</a> und <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/raimund-dachselt/">Raimund Dachselt</a>.</p>
<p data-start="652" data-end="1064">Am Nachmittag präsentierte das Interactive Media Lab verschiedene Projekte im Kontext unserer Forschung im Bereich Augmented Reality, Immersive Visualization, und Visual Analytics.</p>
<p data-start="652" data-end="1064">Nathalie Senechal präsentierte „<em>Augmented Bacteria – Learning with Augmented Reality</em>“, ein AR-Prototyp im Bildungsbereich, der mit dem Lehrstuhl für Mikrobiologie entwickelt wurde, und gedruckte Lernmaterialien mit interaktiven virtuellen Inhalten bereichert.</p>
<p data-start="652" data-end="1064"><a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/julian-mendez/"> Julián Mendez</a> stellte den <em>Nemo Explain Visualizer</em> vor, ein kollaboratives Projekt mit der Knowledge-based Systems Group, mit dem man Reasoning Traces untersuchen und neue Queries für die Nemo Rule Engine bauen kann. Zusammen mit Christian Alrabbaa und Alisa stellte er außerdem <em>„The (Concrete) Evonne and other DL+VIS Tools vor“,</em> eine Suite interaktiver Visualisierungstools zur Untersuchung von Description Logic Reasoning und von Ontologien.</p>
<p data-start="652" data-end="1064">Außerdem stellte Timus Gildeev <em>„Immersive Data-driven Storytelling“</em> vor, einen Virtual-Reality-Prototypen mit dem Nutzer*innen Was-wäre-wenn Szenarien durch immersive Datenvisualisierungen zur ökologischen und städtischen Nachhaltigkeit erkunden können.</p>

April 2026 fand am Schloss Dagstuhl das Dagstuhl-Seminar <a href="https://www.dagstuhl.de/26172"><em data-start="153" data-end="211">„Exertion and Fatigue in Body-Based Interactive Systems“</em></a> statt. Unter den eingeladenen Teilnehmenden war auch unsere Mitarbeiterin <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/katja-krug/"><strong data-start="286" data-end="300">Katja Krug</strong>,</a> die sich aktiv in den interdisziplinären Austausch einbrachte.<span id="more-33192"></span><br />
Das Seminar brachte Forschende aus den Bereichen Human-Computer Interaction, Biomechanik, Ergonomie und kognitive Psychologie zusammen, um die Rolle von Ermüdung in körperbasierten Interaktionen zu untersuchen. Ein zentrales Ziel war es, Ermüdung nicht nur als Einschränkung, sondern auch als integralen Bestandteil des Interaktionsdesigns neu zu betrachten.</p>
<p data-start="730" data-end="1006">Wie für Dagstuhl-Seminare typisch, fand die Veranstaltung in einer abgeschiedenen Umgebung statt und legte den Fokus auf intensive Gruppendiskussionen und Breakout-Sessions, in denen aktuelle Herausforderungen und zukünftige Forschungsrichtungen gemeinsam erarbeitet wurden.</p>
<p data-start="1008" data-end="1096">Ein Bericht mit den Ergebnissen des Seminars wird von Schloss Dagstuhl veröffentlicht.</p>

Im Rahmen seines Besuchs hielt Pavel einen Vortrag in unserer Reihe Dresden Talks mit dem Titel <strong>„Interaction During Walking: Why UI Placement Matters for AR Glasses On the Go&#8220;.</strong> Der Vortrag beleuchtete die Herausforderungen, denen Nutzer:innen bei der Verwendung von Head-Mounted Displays begegnen, und zeigte auf, wie zukünftige Augmented-Reality-Brillen mehrere 3D-UI-Platzierungen basierend auf Fixationsstabilität ermöglichen können.</p>

April 2026 in Barcelona, Spanien, statt. Unter dem Motto „Creant el demà junts&#8220; („Gemeinsam die Zukunft gestalten&#8220;) brachte die Konferenz Forscher, Designer und Fachleute aus aller Welt zusammen. Sechs Mitglieder des IML-Teams (<a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/raimund-dachselt/">Raimund Dachselt</a>, <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/mats-ole-ellenberg/">Mats Ole Ellenberg</a>, <a href="https://imld.de/en/our-group/team/julian-baader/">Julian Baader</a> <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/katja-krug/">Katja Krug</a>, <a href="https://imld.de/en/our-group/team/susmita-khadse/">Susmita Khadse</a>, <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/weizhou-luo/">Weizhou Luo</a>) nahmen an der Konferenz teil und trugen zwei Full Papers, einen Beitrag zum Student Mentoring Program und vier Workshop-Beiträge bei.</p>

Darüber hinaus fungierte <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/raimund-dachselt/">Raimund Dachselt</a> als Session Chair, <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/katja-krug/">Katja Krug</a> nahm am Student Mentoring Program teil, und <a href="https://imld.de/our-group/team/mats-ole-ellenberg/">Mats Ole Ellenberg</a> unterstützte als Student Volunteer und trug so zum Erfolg der Konferenz bei.</p>
<p>Die renommierte CHI verzeichnete in diesem Jahr 5254 Teilnehmende vor Ort in Barcelona. Insgesamt wurden 1702 Full Papers angenommen (von 6730 eingereichten Beiträgen, Annahmequote: 25,3 %) und 36 Journal Papers zur Präsentation eingeladen. Mit diesen Rekordzahlen setzt die CHI ihren Wachstumstrend der letzten Jahre fort.<br />

<p data-start="279" data-end="574">Unter dem Thema <em data-start="299" data-end="352">„Interaction in Nature, in the Wild, at the Summit“</em> brachte die neu ins Leben gerufene Konferenz Forschende aus dem Bereich Mensch-Computer-Interaktion aus der Alpenregion und darüber hinaus zusammen. Veranstaltungsort war der Monte Verità in Ascona in der Schweiz mit Blick auf den Lago Maggiore.</p>
<p data-start="576" data-end="1178">Unser Workshop widmete sich aktuellen ergonomischen Herausforderungen in Extended Reality (XR), insbesondere mit den physischen und kognitiven Belastungen durch multimodale Interaktion und weiteren Ursachen von Ermüdung in XR. In interaktiven Breakout-Sessions wurden zentrale Fragestellungen diskutiert und Ansätze für nachhaltigere und komfortablere XR-Interaktionen entwickelt. Der Workshop stieß auf großes Interesse und bot eine lebendige Plattform für Austausch und Zusammenarbeit. Wir freuen uns über die vielen wertvollen Impulse und darauf, wie sich dieses Forschungsgebiet in Zukunft weiter entwickeln wird.</p>

<p>Das Konferenzprogramm der MIG 2025 umfasste 15 lange und 4 kurze Beiträge (von insgesamt 46 Einreichungen), 11 Poster und 3 eingeladene Beiträge: 2 aus „Computers &amp; Graphics” und 1 aus „Transactions on Computer Graphics &amp; Visualization” (TVCG). Das Programm umfasste außerdem mehrere Keynotes von einflussreichen Forschern und Industriepartnern. Die Single-Track-Konferenz beleuchtete vor allem Fortschritte in den Bereichen Mixed Reality, Avatar-Darstellungen, Rendering, Animation und Spiele. So wurde unser eingeladener TVCG-Artikel von der Community sehr positiv aufgenommen und mit dem Preis für die „Beste studentische Präsentation” ausgezeichnet. </p>

Die führende Konferenz für Fortschritte in Visualisierung und visueller Analytik verzeichnete in diesem Jahr 1114 Teilnehmende, mit 80 angenommenen Beiträgen aus 234 Einreichungen (Akzeptanzrate: 34 %). Die Konferenz, bestehend aus Vortrags­blöcken für lange und kurze Paper, Workshops, Tutorials sowie Preisverleihungen für technische und „Test‑of‑Time“‑Leistungen, war für unsere Vertreter ein faszinierendes und inspirierendes Erlebnis.
