At this year’s IEEE VIS conference, we will present two full papers: Responsive Matrix Cells and Personal Augmented Reality for Information Visualization. The VIS conference is the premier forum for advances in theory, methods, and applications of visualization and visual analytics.
This year, the conference will take place virtually.
Our first full paper, Responsive Matrix Cells: A Focus+Context Approach for Exploring and Editing Multivariate Graphs, is the result of a collaboration with the University of Rostock in the context of our GEMS 2.0 project. In the paper, we present a focus+context approach for matrix visualizations that allows to explore and edit multivariate graphs. On the Responsive Matrix Cells project page, you can find more details alongside videos and the link to the online prototype. The authors are Tom Horak, Philip Berger, Heidrun Schumann, Raimund Dachselt, and Christian Tominski.
The title of our second full paper is Personal Augmented Reality for Information Visualization on Large Interactive Displays. It It deals with the extension of a large, interactive display, which is used for analysis of visualizations, with Augmented Reality. In addition to a design space, various techniques are presented that address perceptual problems, support the presentation of complex data, and enable personal views for each user. The autors are Patrick Reipschläger, Tamara Flemisch, and Raimund Dachselt. More infos can be found on the corresponding project page.
