On October 25th, Dr. Wolfgang Büschel was awarded the dissertation prize of Commerzbank’s Dresden Cultural Foundation for his outstanding doctoral thesis on “Spatial Interaction for Immersive Mixed-Reality Visualizations” .

In his dissertation, Dr. Büschel studied natural interaction possibilities for immersive data visualizations in mixed-reality environments.

In his research on interactive and spatial data analysis, he employed new types of display and computing environments, such as mixed reality devices and transparent tablets, effectively going “beyond the desktop.”

Dr. Büschel developed new spatial interaction techniques and has implemented data analysis tools like MIRIA, noticeably influencing his field of research.

We congratulate Dr. Büschel on his well-deserved award and wish him continued professional success!
