From 3rd to 6th of March 2014 the 6th ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot-Interaction, HRI’14 took place in Bielefeld, Germany. It was the first time our lab participated at the world biggest conference on Human-Robot-Interaction.
André Viergutz and Tamara Flemisch presented their joint work on Increasing the Expressivity of Humanoid Robots with Variable Gestural Expressions (Late Breaking Report) and additionally illustrated the theory with their also accepted demonstration.
During the four days we experienced an interesting event including three keynotes. Helge Ritter talked about the change From Interaction Science to Cognitive Interaction Technology representing the Cognitive Interaction Technology Excellence Cluster (CIT-EC) of Bielefeld. Maja Mataric (University of Southern California) gave an outlook to Methods for Creating Robots that Care. Finally, Maja Pantic (Imperial College London) presented an overview of here former and ongoing research on Automatic Face Analysis.
